From Oysters to Paintball: An Active Weekend in Zeeland

Assignment: Organise an inclusive and diverse alternative to a ski trip, within 300 km of the office.‍

Goal: Bring together a mixed team from different backgrounds and age groups through sport and friendly competition, giving everyone the opportunity to get to know each other better. Using an ‘Active, Medium Active & Low Active Challenge’ format.

We travelled to sunny Zeeland with 140 colleagues from a multinational company for a two-day event centred around action, relaxation and teamwork. The programme was carefully designed to balance informative and active elements. With diversity and inclusivity in mind, we tailored the activities to different interests and energy levels within the group, allowing everyone to participate in a way that suited them.

From a tour of an oyster and lobster farm to competitive paintball and getting their feet wet during the Active Challenge — there was something special for everyone. After these exciting and inspiring activities, everyone gathered for a relaxing drink in the sun, on the terrace or even for a nap. The day ended with an awards ceremony hosted by a former Olympian, followed by a party that continued late into the night.

The next morning, participants were challenged once again, choosing between a refreshing morning swim, a yoga session or an energetic HIIT workout.
